SUMMARY:Learn how to make compost!
DESCRIPTION:The Nelson Tasman Climate Forum  is offering  a 2 hour workshop on planning and building a compost heap on site. \nThe Tutor is Rex Hunt who has run an organic plant nursery since 1980 and has focussed on making his own compost. \nRex has both 1 and 3 year old compost heaps to demonstrate how they change over time\, sequester carbon and remain aerobic. \nWe will also build one ourselves at the Workshop. This is an interactive hands- on Workshop where you will learn to construct one yourself using local and seasonal materials to enrich soil life and produce  healthy chemical free food for your family. \nWhen:  10am to 12 Noon\, Saturday  3rdJune\,  2023 \nLocation:  86 Highway 60 (Appleby Highway) WILLOWGROVE ORGANIC NURSERY (300meters up from 3Brothers corner)- Parking drive in. DESCRIPTION:Following the success of last year’s EV tradeshow during Climate Action Week\, we are please to announce that an Electric Vehicle (EV) tradeshow and test drive session will be organised again this year. \nLearn and explore what  electric vehicles and PHEV models are available in the NZ market. \nThis is your chance to ask questions\, drive an electric vehicle\, talk to EV enthusiasts about their experiences\, to make an informed decision about your next mode of transportation. \nThis event is a co-organisation of Nelson City Council and the Nelson Tasman Climate Forum. \nPlease note that this event should normally showcase only Electric cars. If you are interested by testing or presenting an Ebike during Climate Action week\, visit this page. \nAmongst the many models coming from our different car dealers\, we’ll have the pleasure to welcome the Tesla once again. Due to the expected high demand and for organisational purposes\, we’ll ask you to register here if you want to try the TESLA during our EV test drive session organised as part of the Climate Action Week (from 10 to 12pm). \nOther EV cars don’t need a prior registration\, and will be managed on a first-come\, first served basis. \n \nThis Event is going forward rain\, hail or sunshine.\n \nRemember to bring your driver’s licence if you want to test drive one of the models. SUMMARY:Contemplative Nature Photography Workshop
DESCRIPTION:In the workshop\, you will explore practices to enhance sensory awareness\, and to develop your skills of attentiveness and focus. \nYou will be inspired to re-examine your own ways of perceiving\, thinking about\, and connecting with the natural world. \nThere will be ample space and opportunity to nurture mindfulness\, and to photographically capture the natural beauty of Queen’s Gardens. \nNOTE: Mastering the technical aspects of taking photographs is not the focus of this workshop. Therefore\, you are welcome to use any camera(s) that you would like. \nTea will be prepared and served towards the end of the workshop. Bring water\, your camera\, appropriate rain/sun protection depending upon the weather\, and if possible\, something to sit on that is easily carried. \nABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR – Mark has been teaching and facilitating internationally for the past 25 years. His specialism is ecopsychology/transpersonal psychology\, for which he graduated with a masters degree in Colorado\, USA. At present\, he is offering online educational programmes in ecopsychology\, as well as in-person workshops and consultations facilitating nature connection and ecopsychological awareness.
