SUMMARY:Bike-to-Work Breakfast
DESCRIPTION:Bike to work or school and be rewarded! \nCycle to work or school on Tuesday 28 May and grab a free breakfast on Nelson City Council. We’ll be at 1903 Square (upper Trafalgar Street) between 7am and 9am with a delicious breakfast that you can enjoy with us or take with you to fuel the rest of your cycling journey. \nUsing active transport (walking and cycling) to get around directly reduces our transport-related greenhouse gas emissions. By incentivising people to cycle to school and work\, we are not only reducing emissions but also supporting a healthier and more resilient community. \nLearn how cycling/walking and using “Micromobility” can help regenerate our planet: Microbility I Project Regeneration. \n\nThis event is part of Climate Action Festival. See the full program here.

SUMMARY:Sustainable Farm Tour
DESCRIPTION:A tour of farms in Golden Bay that showcase some of the great initiatives that are happening to make farms more sustainable. See regenerative approaches in action including different ways to nurture soil health\, mixed sward approaches\, use of trees and riparian plantings\, and mixed animal farming. \nFarmers are the potential super-heros of climate change. Regenerative farming practices nurtures a healthy soil microbiome. This sequesters significantly more carbon\, and reduces the amount of methane (another greenhouse gas) produced by cows. The potential impact of this is significant. There are many examples of good farm stewardship here in the Bay – we will be visiting 3 good examples that showcase a range of approaches. \nMeet at the Takaka I site and join our bus tour. Commentary and Q&A will be provided throughout the tour by sustainable land management expert Sol Morgan. We will stop for lunch at the Sustainable Living Centre where an optional $15 organic lunch will be available for purchase. \nMeet at the Takaka I site and join our bus tour. More information and registration (limited places) here. Note that the event is now sold out\, but there is the possibility of registering on a waiting list. People on this list will be contacted directly in the event that capacity is increased. \nWe want to encourage carpooling\, so please use this link if you want to share your care or if you need a ride. \nLearn more on how Regenerative Agriculture can help to regenerate our planet here: Regenerative Agriculture I Project Regeneration. \n\nThis event is part of Climate Action Festival.
