SUMMARY:WEBINAR - The impact of urban form on GHG emissions - and what that means for Nelson Tasman
DESCRIPTION:This Webinar\, led by Timo Neubauer\, from NelsonTasman2050\, will give a brief overview of international research that proves the per-capita life-cycle emissions of low-density urban sprawl are up to 2.4 times higher than those of denser mixed-use urban form. \nHe will also look into our Councils’ current carbon accounting practices and how their planning activities are currently disconnected from their carbon targets and finish with some recommendations for a better way forward. \nTimo Neubauer is a Tasman-based urban designer and small business owner. His array of experience includes projects in Europe\, the UK\, Abu Dhabi as well as the Urban Design Framework for Auckland’s City Rail Link\, potentially New Zealand’s largest investment in public transport in the last five decades. \nTo register on Zoom\, follow this link: REGISTRATION \n\nThis event is part of Climate Action Festival. SUMMARY:Activating behaviour change for climate action in business
DESCRIPTION:Behaviour change may be at the heart of climate action in business\, but it can be the hardest change to drive\, right? \nThis session\, organised by Mission Zero\, passes on the learnings of a host of experienced change activators who have ‘been-there-done-that’ to drive climate action in a business setting. Through a series of short presentations and round table discussions you’ll hear about some of the wins and fails of the job\, and get a chance to address the behaviour change challenges and opportunities affecting your efforts to reduce emissions at work. \nFacilitators have expertise in key areas such as transport\, waste\, energy and procurement\, and will not only share their tips and advice\, but also brainstorm across the table with you to help you to accelerate your thinking. \nThis is a fast-paced session suitable for operational-level business professionals looking to drive behaviour change in their workplace in order to achieve sustainability goals. \nMore info and to register\, follow this link: Activating behaviour change for climate action in business – Mission Zero \n\nThis event is part of Climate Action Festival.
