SUMMARY:Take the Jump Ambassador Training
DESCRIPTION:Are you concerned about climate change\, but not sure how you can help to make a difference? Do you want to play a positive\, active role in climate change solutions? \nGet to know more about the how the global Take the Jump movement is developing in Aotearoa and help to spread the word across the motu by signing up to our free Ambassador training course. \nThe course consists of five x one hour and 15 minute sessions\, and will take place over Zoom every Wednesday evening at 7.30pm\, from February 21st until March 20th. The course will give you all the tools you need to communicate about making sustainable changes\, and Taking the Jump\, in a way that will avoid conflict\, inspire people\, and lead to positive outcomes. The course includes an array of learning materials and plenty of chances to practice communicating. \nThe sessions will cover: \n\nConnecting with others – Exploring the barriers to making a change\nChange through inspiration – Exciting others about what’s possible\nCommunication Toolkit – Principles and steps for communicating\, plus practice sessions.\nDeepening – Recaps\, practice and FAQ’s\nBecoming an Ambassador: groups\, workshops\, resources – and next steps in Aotearoa\n\nRegisterations for the free Ambassador training are now closed\, but please register your interest for the next round\, later in the year\, by sending an email to team.ttj@ntcf.nz \nUse the same address if you want to drop us a message or if you have any questions.

DESCRIPTION:A monthly event helping you to repair your household items\, save resources and build community – brought to you by the Nelson Tasman Climate Forum\, held at the Habitat Hub (Restore)\, 166 Tahunanui Drive. \nYou will be able to bring items for smaller repairs – examples include:\n– Electrical items (no large appliances)\n– Clothing and textiles\n– Small furniture\n– Household items\n– Bicycles\n– Toys \nOne item will be accepted per household\, although if it’s not too busy\, additional items may be repaired.\n– It will be at the discretion of the Repair Café and the volunteers as to whether an item is suitable for repair.\n– We encourage you to observe and engage so that you can pick up new skills too.\n– No charge but koha appreciated. \nMore information or questions: email: ntcf.resources.waste@gmail.com or find us on Facebook: Nelson Repair Cafe. \nRun with the support of the Nelson City Council and the Rethink Waste initiative.
