DESCRIPTION:We would like to highlight\, during this Climate Action Week\, the regular presence of Stitch-it-don’t-ditch-it Whakatū Nelson in our community. \nStitch-it-don’t-ditch-it Whakatū Nelson is part of the larger movement of Street Stiching\, which is “an act of gentle disruption that demonstrates the pleasure and necessity of garment repair in areas of fast fashion chains where consumers are already thinking about replacing or adding to their wardrobe“. \nThey meet every fortnight\, on a Tuesday\, from 11.30am to 11.30pm. \n \nStreet Mending – Positive Action Event \nJoin the street mending event\, sit & mend together on Trafalgar St. under the trees near Bank Lane.\n \nPromoting the repair of clothes as a means to reduce consumption of energy & other resources. \nWhat to bring?       \nChair with Chair banner : Make a chair banner with ‘#stich it don’t ditch it’ & hang it from the back of your seat. \nMending project – neat un-cluttered : Simple Mending kit\, scissors\, pins\, sharp needle\, blunt needle\, fabric scraps \nFor more information contact Ami Kennedy (contact informations below). \nAll Stitching dates:  \nMay 2nd\, 16th and 30th\, June 13th and 27th\, July 11th and 25th\, August 8th and 22nd\, September 5th and 19th\, October 3rd\, 17th and 31th\, November 14th and 28th\, December 12th. \n\n \nSee other Climate Action Week events HERE or on the Event section of the website.
