SUMMARY:Global Stitch Up Headbands made from repurposed cultural fabrics at Hospice op-shops across Nelson and Tasma
DESCRIPTION:Global Stitch up is a creative hub based at Cultural Conversations where we want women from diverse backgrounds to: \n\nFeel safe and empowered.\nUpskill but also learn from each other’s cultural traditions.\nEngage in conversation and make new friends.\nGain business independence and responsibility.\nFeel motivated.\n\nOur current group welcomes over 20 women from India\, Colombia\, Japan\, Chile\, Pakistan\, Afghanistan\, Thailand and Singapore.\nWe are delighted to partner with the ‘Hands up for Hospice’ May fundraiser. Our headbands have been made from a variety of fabric\nincluding recycled sarees\, kimono\, batik\, sarong\, scarves and fabric from West Africa. \nAll profits will go towards continuing to provide a holistic approach to high quality compassionate palliative care with dignity and respect for all cultures by Nelson Tasman Hospice. \nThis event is taking place throughout the festival.
