Kia ora e hoa,

We’re excited you’re thinking about offering an event at the next Climate Action Festival, going from the 17th to the 25th of October.

Before you dive in, please check out the Event Host Information Guide. It’s packed with everything you need to know about becoming an event host, including the ways we can support you—both financially and logistically—to bring your event to life.

To be included in the 2025 programme, your event should align with the festival’s purpose: bringing people together to act for sustainable, low-emissions, and regenerative living.

Here are a few important details:

  1. Application deadline for the first round is 1 August 2025. If space is still available after that, we’ll open a second round.
    • Submit a separate form for each different event.
    • If your event happens on multiple days, you only need to submit one form.
    • Let us know if you’d like to be part of our Community gathering organised on the Sunday 19th at Founders (Nelson).
  2. Events must be organised by the person applying.
  3. Hosts are responsible for doing a health and safety risk assessment (we can help with this), and for doing their best to support our climate goals—like reducing waste.
  4. By applying, you agree to let us promote your event in the official programme and through our marketing channels.
  5. We aim to offer a diverse and exciting lineup! Final event selection is up to the Nelson Tasman Climate Forum. We’ll consider:
    • how well your event matches community interest,
    • its uniqueness, and
    • whether the format or venue suits your event.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out: info@ntcf.nz

Ngā mihi and we can’t wait to see you at the festival.

Your Event Title may be used on its own to promote your event, so please choose something that describes your event well.
Although we reserve the right to edit, your description will be published on our website, so please make it attractive and explain what attendees can expect. Take into consideration the tips in the Event Host Information Pack.
Please provide the name of your association, community group, or the name you want to be displayed as the organiser of the Event.
Please mention where your Event is to take place (Nelson, Tasman, online,...).
In person/webinar - hands on/lecture, etc?
Please explain if you would like to propose a workshop, start a discussion, be present with a booth,...
Please explain at what time of the week and day you plan to organise your event.
Although publicity around your event is included in the general communication around CAF and that we’ll provide a social media package to use for your communication, we'd still like to know what specific communication channels you intend to use to spread the word even further.
Please explain what is your strategy here. Your event doesn't need to be free, but we'd like to make sure it doesn't represent an obstacle for people with low budget. A sliding scale ticket could be an option, for instance.
At what times of the day were you thinking to host your event?
Have you got a preference for the day of the week you'd like to host your event?
