Learn how to make compost! – Appleby

October 18 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Koha

Join us for this popular interactive hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to plan, build, and maintain a compost heap.

Organic nursery operator Rex Hunt will demonstrate how you can make your own compost in a short period of time. He takes a science-based approach and will explain the difference between a hot compost (short period) and a cold compost (longer period). You will get to see one-year-old compost, one-week-old compost, and will make a compost pile on the day, with a handout to take away. Come with your questions and any problems you may have experienced.

This event is free, though a Koha donation is welcome. Please register at the ticket link and bring a snack and beverage (for yourself), gloves, boots and a hay fork (last item is not mandatory).

Location:  86 Highway 60 (Appleby Highway) WILLOWGROVE ORGANIC NURSERY (300meters up from 3Brothers corner)- Parking drive in. See on map

Free Entry – A Koha on the day would be welcome.
