Be part of a week of inspiration, education, fun and collaboration as we explore a regenerative and low-emissions future together.
The theme for this year’s Festival is Our Place, Our Power.
The 2026 Climate Action Festival is about returning to our place. Our Tūrangawaewae is where we stand empowered and connected.
The fuel crisis of 2026 has been an eye-opener for many of us. Our place in the world feels more precious and more precarious than ever as the price of fuel looks set to stay high for some time.
We’re in a time of change, and the choices we make as individuals, communities and voters matter. Power comes from people who are willing to participate, imagine differently and work together toward a world where all life thrives.
How can we increase access to the energy generated from unlimited sunshine?
How can we make and share resources with others in our broader community?
What would it look like to design our towns and neighbourhoods around connected and supportive communities?
What ways can we do things differently and what skills can help us along the way?
These questions and more will be on the table for the 2026 Nelson Tasman Climate Action Festival. Our goal is to reduce the distance between us and those things that make us happy – friends, whānau and nature. And what better time than this?
It’s people like you who made last year’s festival such a success. Volunteers organised composting workshops, repair events, film nights, bike tours, webinars and e-bike expos.
Join us in creating another festival of inspiration, learning and action. We look forward to hearing from you.
