Battle for the Banded Rail – Community planting day

May 26 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

free

Battle for the Banded Rail is a project working with local communities to increase the number of banded rail and other estuarine birds on the margins of the Waimea Inlet by restoring habitat and trapping predators. This is the first of a series of planting day. See the full winter schedule here.

Please bring drinking water, wear clothes and footwear suitable for the weather.  There will be some rushes to be planted in the saltmarsh area so gumboots would be best for that.  Morning tea will be provided.

Access and parking is from Pukeko Lane.

No need to register, but if you’ve got a doubt about the weather, please check the organiser Facebook page here.

This event is part of Climate Action Festival. See the full program here.
