Deep Time Walk

September 20 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Koha

Every rock beneath your feet, every breath you take, every living being you encounter is part of an extraordinary story that began 4.6 billion years ago.

On this guided 4.6-kilometre walk, we journey through the unfolding history of our planet. Each metre represents one million years, allowing us to experience Earth’s vast story at a human pace. Along the way, we pause at key moments in Earth’s evolution – from the birth of our planet and the emergence of life, through forests, dinosaurs and mammals, to the appearance of humans in the final moments of the walk.

The Deep Time Walk is an invitation to experience our place within the living Earth. Through storytelling, reflection and time in nature, many participants leave with a renewed sense of wonder, belonging and gratitude for the remarkable lineage of life of which we are a part.

Whether you are curious about Earth’s history, concerned about the future of our planet, or simply seeking a meaningful experience in nature, this walk offers a perspective that is both grounding and inspiring.

Your guide for this experience is Jaime Howell, a trained facilitator of the Deep Time walk. Jaime is the founder of the Centre for The Great Turning Charitable Trust.

“The walk is one of the most powerful transformative practices I know when it comes to realising in your body just how intelligent life is.” – Jaime
