Permaculture Possibilities: Discover, Design and Transform Your Space

September 26 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Koha

Curious about permaculture? Whether you have a large property, a suburban backyard, or just a small garden, this workshop will introduce you to a practical design system that helps create productive, resilient and beautiful spaces while working with nature rather than against it.

During this engaging introduction, you’ll discover the ethics and 12 principles of permaculture and learn how they can be applied to everyday life. Through permaculture you can improve soil health, conserve water, grow food, increase biodiversity, foster stronger, more resilient communities, and design landscapes that are both abundant and low maintenance.

The second part of the session is interactive and tailored to you. Participants are encouraged to bring photos, sketches or simple plans of their property to explore its unique challenges and opportunities. In these one to one sessions, we’ll discuss practical ideas and design solutions that can help transform your space, no matter its size or stage of development.

Whether you’re interested in growing more food, creating a food forest, attracting wildlife, reducing maintenance, or making your property more resilient to a changing climate, this workshop will provide inspiration to help you get started.

No previous knowledge of permaculture is required, everyone is welcome.

Please bring a plate of food to share.

This is a free community event. A koha is warmly welcomed to help support the Climate Forum in continuing to offer educational events for our community.
