An event looking at how we can reduce the tonnes of clothing going to landfill. This is a "follow on" from The Clothing Revolution put on by the Waimea Soroptimist club last year. This year it is aimed at school students from year 7 up challenging them how to reuse, repair and restyle their clothes before discarding them to landfill. How to look at good quality materials rather than cheap online alternatives. Encourage utilising good op-shops in the area. A parade with prizes will be held. Other repair groups will be present. The Nelson/Tasman Climate Forum will have displays and a video. Entry is free, and light refreshments will be available at a small charge.
We will look at the 10 most common edible weeds, learning about their nutrition, growing habit, properties and how to use them in your kitchen. A few tasters will be available for sampling. Notes will be supplied.
